Episode #265: God ain’t killed Florida Man yet

We share tales of our tempestuous affair with Helene and Milton, Alex road rages at women and gays in gas lines, Adrian still hoping for a mass permanent evacuation of Florida, Teslas really don’t like water, Trump warns Detroit it might end up like Detroit, Biden’s dementia starting to sound sane, China’s all up in our back door, and this show is definitely not full of drugs.

Salt Typhoon Hack Shows There's No Security Backdoor That's Only For The "Good Guys" | Electronic Frontier Foundation

“Right after we did our first massive flash several years ago, the Chinese manufacturers all released urgent firmware updates to try and reopen their backdoor. Their cover story was the update fixed a critical security vulnerability, which is ironic on a couple of levels. But, the CIA got suspicious and had NSA analyze the update code. They figured out what the Chinese were up to, and sent out a classified memo to all government agencies warning them not to install the update. The best part was that the whole episode convinced the NSA that the ‘original’ factory firmware – which was actually the Cassandra flash in disguise – was totally secure.
